There exist various qualitative and quantitative criteria, that measure inclusion and diversity of movies. One example focusing on women specifically is the Bechdel test. It has three conditions: 1) the movie has to have at least two women in it, who 2) talk to each other, about 3) something other than a man.
Among all the films that won the Academy Award for Best Picture 49% successfully met the criteria of the Bechdel test.
